UPDATE at 7:30 PM: The fire department has the fire contained and the roadway is re-opened. If you live in the area and evacuated, it is ok to return home.

The Fire Department is currently fighting a brush fire between Butcher Road and Lagoon Valley Park. Though evacuations are not required at this time, there is a lot of equipment coming up Butcher Road and we are closing the street to incoming vehicle traffic. This post will be updated as we get more information.

And don’t squander public resources for private development...

Governor Newsom has expanded his emergency drought declaration to include Solano County. While there are no mandatory water-conservation orders at this time, we can all step up our efforts to conserve water.

In Vacaville, residents and businesses can do their part to save water by not hosing down sidewalks or creating runoff when watering landscapes or lawns. Here are more tips:

•Keep showers short
•Make sure the clothes washer is completely full when doing
laundry
•Make sure the dishwasher is completely full when doing dishes
•Do not run water when brushing teeth or shaving
•Irrigate early in the mornings or evenings and when it is not
windy to avoid loss of water
•Consider watering lawns for shorter periods over multiple cycles to
maximize soil pe*******on and reduce runoff
•Don't overwater your lawn--most lawns only need 1-2" of water
each week

For more information about how you can use water more efficiently and to find out about additional resources, programs and rebates for saving water please visit the City’s website at www.CityofVacaville.com or call (707) 469-6400.

Urgent: Make your voices heard...again! The Vacaville City Council will be voting to approve the formation of a Community Facilities District (CFD) for Lagoon Valley.

If approved, PUBLIC funding in the form of bonds will be issued to pay for the extensive infrastructure required for the out-of state developer’s PRIVATE project - passing their obligation to pay for all infrastructure costs onto the plates of the taxpayers who will live there.

Encourage your council members to vote NO! Vacaville deserves better.

This meeting will be conducted consistent with State Executive Order N-29-20 and guidance from the California Department of Public Health on gatherings, which suspends certain requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act and provides the use of teleconferencing to make public meetings accessible by phone....
