Vacaville A.W.A.R.E. Coalition Welcome to the official Vacaville AWARE Coalition page. Vacaville AWARE Coalition is the City of Vacaville's Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) Coalition.

AWARE is an acronym for Advocating for Wellness, Adolescent Recovery and Education, AWARE's goal is to reduce the rate of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among Vacaville youth and reduce youth access to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Our efforts are funded by the Vacaville Police Department in collaboration with the Solano County Board of Supervisors and in partnership with Vacaville Unified School District and several community agencies and constituents.

Our A.W.A.R.E./PTP teens spent this past Wednesday at a statewide Youth Leadership & Prevention Conference at UC Berkeley alongside 300+ high school students!

They showed up ready to learn, connect, and grow as leaders. Opportunities like this help shape the future and our teens are proof that youth voices truly matter.

Thank you to the Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) for investing in our youth and making this experience possible!💙

Today at our PTP meeting, we celebrated successfully completing our first semester of Peer to Peer workshops at Vaca Peña Middle School and Sierra Vista! 👏

We enjoyed a delicious brunch style potluck and wrapped things up with a fun gingerbread house competition as a team building activity. 🏠🎄

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season from Vacaville AWARE! ❄️✨

During RED RIBBON WEEK in October, the Vacaville AWARE Coalition, Vacaville Unified School District, and private schools came together to participate in the “Team Up Against Drugs” campaign. Schools took a stand against drugs and alcohol by teaming up and wearing sports gear to school. The level of participation was outstanding! Over 3,000 youth participated this year. 🎉

This week, our Team Up Against Drugs winners were presented with trophies and certificates of participation at their schools. Their commitment to educating and supporting our students in the fight against substance abuse is commendable. By coming together as a team, they have shown that we can make a significant impact on our community. Your efforts not only raise awareness but also inspire our students to make healthier choices. 😀

School winners were Alamo Elementary School, Notre Dame School, Willis Jepson Middle School, and Vacaville High School. Additionally, we want to recognize the teachers with the highest participation at each school.

- Rachel Renner - Alamo Elementary
- Liliana Romero - Notre Dame School
- Christina Morace - Willis Jepson Middle School
- Megan Omand - Vacaville High School

These dedicated educators have inspired their students to engage in this important initiative. Thank you all for your commitment and for encouraging our students to make healthy choices! Let’s continue to work together to promote a drug-free environment!
