The Minnesota State Council was held this week at Machinists Union District Lodge 77. Members from across the state gathered for an important meeting focused on the issues that matter most to working families.

The meeting opened with remarks from IAM International President Brian Bryant, followed by IAM Union - Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli, setting the tone for a powerful discussion about the challenges and priorities facing union members across the state.

The following day, delegates took those conversations to the Minnesota State Capitol, meeting directly with lawmakers. A key issue on the agenda was unemployment insurance for workers on strike.

Access to unemployment insurance helps level the playing field, ensuring workers can exercise their rights without facing devastating financial hardship. When workers stand together for fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignity on the job, they shouldn’t be pushed to the brink just to make their voices heard.

We look forward to improving our Delegates' experience next year.

Thank you for the positive feedback and helping make our event successful.

Here are some of the Labor issues and Priorities we discussed with our elected State Representatives yesterday.

5. Unemployment Insurance for Striking Workers.
6. Save our VA by Honoring the Nation's Promise to Veterans.
