🚌 Today marks the start of National School Bus Safety Week (Oct. 19-23) 🚌

CDOT reminds all drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, stay alert and follow these critical school bus safety laws:

🚨Lights flashing red? Come to a complete stop.

Drivers must stop at least 20 feet before a school bus when its stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing. This applies whether you are approaching a school bus on your side of the road, on the opposite side of an undivided road or at an intersection.

🛑 Think it’s safe to pass? Not so fast.

Remain stopped until the red lights have stopped flashing, the stop arm is withdrawn and students have safely crossed the street.
