I visited Volunteer Park yesterday with Kinderhook Supervisor Tim Ooms to celebrate the new Basketball courts. I’m grateful to have secured a $50,000 grant to help the town complete this project.

During the flooding on July 29, you worked long hours under incredibly difficult conditions to keep our roads safe, responded to emergencies, and help our neighbors when they needed it most. Your professionalism, compassion, and commitment to this community did not go unnoticed.

On behalf of the Town of Kinderhook, we extend our sincere gratitude to every highway employee, firefighter, EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, and volunteer who answered the call. Your willingness to serve, often putting the needs of others before your own, is a testament to the strength of this community.

STATE OF EMERGENCY & TRAVEL ADVISORY – COLUMBIA COUNTY

Due to widespread flooding and the potential for additional heavy rainfall, Columbia County has declared a State of Emergency and issued a countywide Travel Advisory, effective 10:00 AM today through 7:00 AM tomorrow, unless extended or rescinded.

Residents are urged to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary. If you must travel, use extreme caution, never drive through flooded roadways, and check for road closures before leaving.
