The Valatie Rescue Squad is at the Kinderhook Carnival located at the Town Park on State Farm Road!

We’re standing by throughout the evening alongside our friends from the Niverville Fire Department Inc. to help keep everyone safe while they enjoy all the carnival has to offer.

Be sure to stop by our educational booth in the vendor section! Our crew members are available to answer questions about EMS, emergency preparedness, and the services we provide throughout the community. You can also check out some of our equipment and learn more about what happens when you call 911.

Whether you’re enjoying the rides, games, food, or simply spending time with family and friends, we’d love to see you. We’ll be here until the fireworks later this evening!

Valatie Rescue Squad is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our longtime EMTs, Corey Yates.

Corey had been a dedicated member of our agency since 2012. As a full-time EMT, he helped train and mentor countless EMTs and paramedics as they began their careers with our agency. He also served as Junior Coordinator, where he made a lasting impact on the lives of many junior members between the ages of 14 and 18, several of whom went on to pursue careers in EMS and other healthcare fields.

Corey was more than an excellent provider. He was a friend to many of us. He brought levity to every shift he worked, joy to those around him, and comfort to everyone fortunate enough to be in his care.

In his own way, Corey left a lasting impact on our rescue squad, our community, and countless lives.

Corey, your watch may have ended, but your legacy will live on forever. You will be dearly missed.

⚾️ Another great season is in the books!

We are incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to sponsor a Little League Baseball Team for the fourth consecutive year. Supporting programs that give local children the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun is something that is very important to us.

Our team did a fantastic job all season long, but more importantly, they had fun, made friendships, and created memories that will last a lifetime. That's what youth sports are all about.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the coaches and parents who dedicate so much of their time to these young athletes. Your commitment, patience, and encouragement help make this program such a tremendous success year after year.

Congratulations to all of the players on a wonderful season, and thank you to Northern Columbia Little League for all that you do for the children and families in our community. We are already looking forward to next year!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion will never be forgotten.

We are excited to officially unveil our newly wrapped VRS community outreach trailer!

A huge thank you to Matt's Signs for the outstanding work bringing our design to life and creating what has truly become a rolling billboard for the many initiatives and services we provide throughout our community. The trailer not only looks incredible, but also helps us better connect with the residents we serve.

You’ll notice several QR codes displayed on the trailer that provide direct access to important resources on our website, including:
• Community Training Programs
• Child Car Seat Installations & Inspections
• Our H.E.L.P. (Healthcare Equipment Lending Program)

This trailer is utilized regularly to deliver H.E.L.P. equipment to individuals and families in need throughout Columbia County, and you’ll also begin seeing it at many of our community events, trainings, public education programs, and outreach initiatives.

We are proud to continue expanding the ways we engage with and support our community both on and off the ambulance. Be sure to keep an eye out for the trailer around the county!

The EMS community, along with several EMS agencies throughout Columbia County, has lost a true legend.

John brought joy to every room he walked into. After completing a dedicated career with the Albany Fire Department, he continued serving others through his work with several agencies here in Columbia County. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives, mentored and taught so many of us, and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

We mourn the loss of this remarkable man and keep his family, loved ones, friends, and EMS family in our hearts during this difficult time.
