Motorcycle Crash Investigation
On May 9, 2026, at approximately 11:43 p.m., deputies with the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the intersection of County Road J and Roselawn Road in the Town of Liberty for a reported single motorcycle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Roselawn Road when the operator failed to stop for the stop sign at County Road J and continued through the intersection. After clearing the intersection, the motorcycle entered the ditch, struck a sign and a field access, resulting in the operator being ejected from the motorcycle.
The operator, a 54-year-old Town of Liberty man, was operating a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained possible life-threatening injuries.
Valders Ambulance responded to the scene. The operator was later airlifted by ThedaStar to Theda Clark Medical Center for treatment.
We would like to thank Valders Ambulance, Valders Fire Department, Theda Star, and HI-WAY 42 Garage for their assistance on this incident.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office would like to remind all motorcycle operators and passengers to wear appropriate safety equipment, including helmets, eye protection, protective clothing, gloves, and proper footwear whenever riding. Taking these precautions can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in the event of a crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office.
