It’s going to be a busy one for Valdez Bucs Athletics! Here’s where you can find our teams this weekend:

On the road: VOLLEYBALL! 🏐
Our Volleyball team is headed to North Pole and Hutchison this weekend! Let’s cheer them on from home and wish them the best of luck!

On our home turf: FOOTBALL! 🏈
Nikiski is coming to Valdez for a game on Saturday, September 19th! Grab your rain jacket, umbrella, and chair and come out to support our Bucs!

On the trails: XC RUNNING! 🏃‍♀️🏃
Come run with the team this Saturday at 6:00 PM for the fun Glow Run/Walk! Start & registration: End of Mineral Creek Dr.
All donations will go directly to the XC Running Team!

In the pool: VALDEZ SWIM INVITE!🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️
We have several teams coming from all over the state to compete, making for an action-packed weekend in the pool! Starts Friday, September 18th at 5pm!

Help imagine the next chapter at Valdez High School!

Within weeks of our town's official incorporation in 1901, our schools have been part of Valdez’s story. Join us tomorrow evening to share your ideas for how a remodeled VHS could best serve our students and community for generations to come.

Drop in to meet the architects, ask questions, and help shape the vision for a potential high school remodel. All community members are welcome, whether you have students in our schools, graduated from VHS, or simply care about the future of Valdez.

We are looking forward to this week's Flex Friday! In addition to the regular classroom tutoring options and jazz band (9:15-10), students can learn embroidery basics with Ms. Gilson, participate in and learn about T3 (Teaching Through Technology) opportunities, meet with architects to provide input and ideas for the new high school, get a workout in the gym or weight room, or use the cafeteria as a study area with teachers available to help. Be sure to check PowerSchool to see if you have any work that needs to be made up.

VHS is excited for the 2026 Valdez Invitational Volleyball Tournament, September 4 & 5.

This year we are welcoming teams from Barrow, Bethel, Delta, Houston, Mt. Edgecumbe, North Pole, Redington, Seward, Sitka, and your hometown Buccaneers!
