What an exciting day for our 2nd grade scholars!

On August 27, our students were invited to attend the Read with Malcolm Reading Rally with Malcolm Mitchell! Every student received a copy of his newest book, My Super Duper Me, and got to read along with him during the event.

And of course, you can’t have Malcolm Mitchell visit without throwing a football or two! Ms. Durden and our fearless leader, Mr. Lewis, even got in on the action!

One of the highlights of the day was seeing three students from each school recognized as Top Persevering Readers and presented with a special Read Team jersey!

A HUGE congratulations to our very own Travis Thomas, Kingston Copeland, and Juliana Ventura for representing J.L. Lomax as Top Persevering Readers!

We are so proud of you, Wildcats! Keep reading, keep growing, and keep showing us what perseverance looks like! ♥️

Summer Reading Champions!

A HUGE congratulations to our students who completed the Summer Reading Challenge by reading 20 books and completing their Book Taco activities over the summer!

Of course, all that reading deserved a sweet celebration! Our Summer Reading Champions enjoyed an ice cream sundae and got to choose a prize from our Prize Shack!

We are SO proud of these readers for keeping those pages turning all summer long! Way to go, Wildcats! 💛🖤
