This week, we’re proud to recognize Greater Valdosta United Way as our Leading Business of the Week!

For more than 70 years, Greater Valdosta United Way has been making a difference across South Georgia by connecting people with resources, supporting local nonprofits, mobilizing volunteers, and creating opportunities for stronger, more resilient communities.

Today, GVUW serves 17 counties, partners with 23 local nonprofits, and supports more than 38 social service programs throughout the region. We’re grateful for their continued commitment to helping individuals and families and strengthening our community. 💙

A Milestone Worth Celebrating!

This morning, we were honored to attend the ribbon-cutting for the Jeanette Newbern Coody Valdosta Community Shelter in Valdosta!

This building has been a long time coming, and we are incredibly grateful to have played a small part in helping bring this important project to life with a $25,000 donation. We are thankful to our GVUW Board of Directors for their quick approval and support in making this investment possible.💙

The shelter will serve as the City of Valdosta’s emergency weather shelter, providing a safe place for community members during severe weather events.

We’re proud to invest in projects that strengthen our community and help make South Georgia more resilient. Congratulations to everyone who helped make the Jeanette Newbern Coody Valdosta Community Shelter a reality!

Across Georgia, financial hardship looks different from one county to the next. But in every community, households are working hard and still struggling to afford the basics.

That’s why the data matters. By measuring households in poverty and ALICE households with income above the poverty level but still unable to afford basics, the data paints a more complete picture of financial hardship statewide.
