This past month, the cadets pictured had the distinct honor of contracting into the United States Air Force, marking a major milestone in their journey to becoming Air Force officers. Their hard work, commitment, and dedication have brought them to this moment, and it is only the beginning of what lies ahead.

Detachment 172 is incredibly proud to have such outstanding cadets representing our program. Please join us in congratulating them in the comments!

Week 12 LLAB was designed to simulate a field training exercise (FTX), giving our GMC cadets a realistic and challenging environment to apply the skills they've developed throughout the semester. At the start of LLAB, cadets were issued a detailed schedule and were expected to meet strict timelines while moving between multiple locations, reinforcing time management and accountability.

Throughout the exercise, cadets were evaluated on key areas such as field drill evaluations, participation in Group Leadership Problems (GLPs), and their ability to operate effectively under pressure. The LLAB concluded with an Air Force knowledge test, ensuring cadets demonstrated both practical skills and foundational understanding. Overall, this LLAB emphasized leadership, teamwork, and adaptability in a high-tempo, field-like setting.

We're back from Spring Break, so here's a recap of our last two LLABS!

During Week 8, cadets participated in a Group Leadership Project focused on the strategic movement of airpower assets during global conflict scenarios. This exercise challenged cadets to think critically about resource allocation and decision-making, emphasizing the importance of selecting the right assets to support mission success in a dynamic operational environment.

Week 9 shifted focus to hands-on field and military tactics applicable to real-world Air Force operations.
Our POC led training on vehicle bailout procedures, 9-line UX reporting, and techniques for detaining an enemy assailant. These practical exercises reinforced tactical proficiency and prepared cadets for future operational scenarios.

Week 7 LLAB was a great success and full of energy from start to finish. We kicked things off with an engaging current affairs briefing led by C/Foley, who challenged cadets to think critically about today's global events and how they impact the Air Force. Following the briefing, C/Carlisi led the detachment through an Air Domain GLP, where cadets had the opportunity to apply teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a competitive environment.
