City Council Meeting Security Reminder

BRUSH PIT KEY POLICY UPDATE

Starting today, a debit/credit card or $25 cash deposit will be required when checking out a Brush Pit key.

🔑 This deposit is being implemented to help ensure that all keys are returned after use.

Once the key is returned, your card or $25 cash deposit will be returned to you.

⚠️ If the key is not returned, the $25 deposit will be forfeited or your card will be charged accordingly.

📢 VOLUNTEERS WANTED – CITY OF VALE CHARTER & ORDINANCE COMMITTEE

The City of Vale is seeking community members to serve on a newly established Charter & Ordinance Committee. This committee will review the City Charter and Municipal Code, discuss potential updates and revisions, and make recommendations to the City Council.

We are looking for individuals who have a vested interest in the City of Vale and who want to help shape the future of our community.

Eligibility Requirements

✅ Must reside within the City of Vale limits or
✅ Own or operate a business within the City limits

Meeting Schedule

📅 4th Tuesday of each month
🕕 6:00 p.m.
📍 Immediately before the regular City Council meeting

Please submit a Letter of Interest describing your interest in serving on the committee and any experience or perspective you would bring.

🌾 DID YOU KNOW? – Property Maintenance Matters! 🌾

The City of Vale Municipal Code requires property owners and those responsible for property to keep weeds, grass, brush, bushes, and other noxious vegetation under control.

Regular maintenance helps:
🔥 Reduce fire hazards
🌱 Prevent weeds from going to seed and spreading
🏡 Keep our neighborhoods clean, safe, and attractive

If the City must perform the work through the abatement process:
✔️ Abatement costs will be charged to the property owner.
✔️ Unpaid balances may be assessed a $2.50 late fee, accrue 10% annual interest, and become a lien against the property.

⚠️ Please be aware: Under City of Vale Municipal Code 4.5.28, a person who violates the City's nuisance ordinance or fails to comply with an order issued under the ordinance may, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of up to $750.
