The Middlesex Township Police Department is proud to introduce a new badge design that reflects the history, heritage, and values of the community we proudly serve. In the coming days, our members will begin displaying this new badge as part of their uniform. While the appearance may be updated, the mission behind it remains unchanged: serving our residents with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to putting Community First.

A police officer's badge is more than a piece of metal worn on a uniform. It is a symbol of honor, sacrifice, responsibility, and public trust. It represents an officer's commitment to protect life, uphold the law, and serve the community with dignity and respect. Every officer who wears a badge carries the responsibility of serving something greater than themselves.

Every element of this badge was intentionally selected to tell the story of Middlesex Township. The roadway running through the center represents present-day Route 8 while paying tribute to the historic Old Plank Road that helped shape the township's development. The barn, grist mill wheel, farmland, and livestock honor the agricultural roots that have defined our community for generations. The rolling hills and countryside reflect the natural beauty and distinctive landscapes that residents are proud to call home.

Centered above the landscape is the Seal of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, symbolizing our oath to faithfully serve the citizens of the Commonwealth. The radiating background represents progress, growth, and the bright future of Middlesex Township while honoring those who came before us.

Variations of the badge will be worn based upon rank and assignment, including Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, and Chief. Additionally, select color variations may be incorporated periodically to recognize important awareness initiatives and community causes, such as autism awareness, cancer awareness, and other programs that impact those we serve.

This badge is more than a new design—it is a tribute to our township's past, a reflection of our present, and a symbol of our commitment to the future. Most importantly, it serves as a daily reminder that the men and women of the Middlesex Township Police Department remain dedicated to serving with honor, protecting with integrity, and always putting Community First.

Middlesex Township is proud to announce our partnership with the 12 Months of April Project, an organization dedicated to supporting children with special needs and providing resources to first responders during emergency situations.
Check out some of the items you can donate to help support the cause. These donations will go directly to first responders and will provide vital and essential tools to children involved in emergency situations that help comfort and calm them during stressful incidents.
Items such as sensory toys, fidget items, stuffed animals, headphones, communication cards, and other sensory-support resources can make a tremendous difference for children during emergencies.
Together, we can continue building stronger relationships within our community while helping ensure first responders have the tools needed to better assist children and families during times of crisis.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Mars Area Life Skills class to the Middlesex Township Police Department for a special visit!

Officers Okavitch and Casale gave the students a tour of our police station, showed them our police vehicles, and spent time answering questions and interacting with the class.

We truly enjoyed having the students visit and appreciate the opportunity to build positive connections with the community. Spending time with these wonderful children was the highlight of our day, and we hope they had as much fun as we did!

Thank you again to the Mars Area Life Skills class for stopping by and spending time with us!

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨

We are warning residents about an ongoing phone scam targeting our township. We had several residents targeted by this in January.

Scammers are calling residents and pretending to be from the Federal Sheriff’s Office or the Butler County Police Department. They claim you have a warrant for your arrest for missing a court date and say the issue can be “taken care of” by making an immediate payment.

🚩 THIS IS A SCAM.

Please remember:

🚫 Law enforcement will NEVER call and demand money

🚫 Law enforcement will NEVER ask for payment in Bitcoin, gift cards, wire transfers, or prepaid cards

🚫 Warrants are NOT resolved over the phone

👉 If anyone asks you to send Bitcoin or any form of digital currency, it is almost certainly a scam.

If you receive a call like this:

Hang up immediately

Do not send money

Do not provide personal information

Report the call to your local police department

Please help protect friends, family, and neighbors—especially seniors—by sharing this post.

Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay safe.
