Temporary Disruption at Town Hall & Community Center - Monday, April 27, 2026

Please be advised that access to Town Hall may be disrupted on Monday, April 27, 2026 due to a large-scale filming production utilizing portions of both the interior and exterior of the building. The project will also utilize the Community Center building and parking lot. The Library will be closed. Town Offices will remain fully open and operational during normal business hours and Police will be on-site to direct vehicles and pedestrians. However, please be aware of the following disruptions at Town Hall:

Parking & Traffic:
Expect limited parking and heavy congestion in the building. Handicap parking will remain accessible.

Building Entry:
- General Public: Please use the side entrance (requires stairs).
- ADA Access: The main entrance remains open exclusively for those requiring accessible entry.

If your business at Town Hall is not time-sensitive, we strongly recommend visiting on an alternative date or utilizing our online services to avoid the anticipated congestion.

To reach a specific department, view the Staff Directory for contact information. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this temporary disruption.

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Often, the public only sees the "tip of the iceberg" - the quick transaction at a window or a document arriving in the mail. Behind the scenes, however, an incredible amount of heavy lifting happens in every corner of Town Hall. Thank you all for everything you do!

In the Town Clerk's Office, that "heavy lifting" wouldn't be possible without the support of my Westchester Putnam Town Clerks Association colleagues and, most importantly, my Deputy, Danielle Drake. Danielle's resilience is the engine of our office and keeps us moving forward. I appreciate you!

NOTICE REGARDING DOOR-TO-DOOR SOLICITORS

Dear Residents:

The Town Clerk’s office has recently received several inquiries and has seen social media reports regarding individuals going door-to-door claiming to be representing Verizon.

While we cannot verify the identity or affiliation of these specific individuals, please be aware that there are currently no active, licensed solicitors registered with the Town of Mount Pleasant. If your home is approached, please keep the following in mind:

• Ask for a Permit: All licensed solicitors are required by Town Code to carry their official permit at all times and must show it to you upon request. If they cannot produce a town-issued permit, they are not authorized to solicit.

• Check the Official List: Please note that licenses are issued to individuals, not entire companies. While we do not publish individual names, you can verify which companies have currently licensed staff by checking our website here: Peddling & Soliciting Licenses.

• No Knock Registry: In October 2025, the Town established a "No Knock Registry." This list is provided to every solicitor when they obtain their license, and they are strictly prohibited from approaching homes on this registry. If you haven't already, you can sign up here: No-Knock Registry Sign-up.

• Safety First: If you have concerns about a solicitor’s behavior or want to make a report, please contact the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 914-769-1941. If you feel you are in danger, please dial 911.

As always, please feel free to reach out to the Town Clerk’s office at 914-742-2312 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Emily Costanza, Town Clerk

From the Desk of Supervisor Fulgenzi:

Advance online speaker registration is now available for those wishing to speak at Town Board Meetings. While speaker sign-in has traditionally been completed on paper at meetings, members of the public may now register in advance using the online Town Board Speaker Registration Form or during the meeting.

Members of the public who wish to speak during the Business from the Floor or Public Hearing portions of a Town Board meeting are encouraged to register in advance. Advance registration helps ensure an efficient meeting and accurate, legible contact information for any necessary follow-up.

Advance registration is appreciated but not required. Anyone who has not registered in advance will simply be asked to sign in before speaking.

As a reminder, those wishing to speak shall be limited to five (5) minutes, as a courtesy to others.

From the Desk of Supervisor Fulgenzi:

In a decisive victory for resident privacy and cybersecurity, New York’s highest court ruled in favor of the Town of Mount Pleasant, affirming that the personal email addresses of E-News subscribers must remain protected. The Court recognized that releasing this information would expose residents to real cybersecurity risks—including phishing, spoofing, and identity theft—and would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. This landmark decision reinforces the Town’s commitment to safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining the trust of the community it serves.
