The members of Solano Napa County Professional Firefighters join our brothers and sisters at the Rio Vista Professional Firefighter’s Association in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Fire Engineer Alex “Boz” Bosworth.

Boz faithfully served the City of Rio Vista Fire Department for 14 years — beginning as a Volunteer Reserve, earning his place as a Firefighter Paramedic, and later promoting to Engineer. He loved the job. He loved serving the citizens of Rio Vista and the Delta District. And anyone who had the privilege of working beside him knew his smile could light up a station and his compassion ran even deeper.

Alex leaves behind his 8-year-old son, Isaiah, Julia — the mother of their two children — and his mother, Avis. Our hearts are with them during this unimaginable time.
We respectfully ask our community to keep Boz’s family in your thoughts and prayers and to honor their privacy as they grieve.

A GoFundMe has been established with the family’s blessing to assist with memorial expenses. All funds will go directly to the family. We encourage those who are able to support and to share.

Rest easy, Brother. Your watch is covered.

The Vallejo Fire Department hosted Captain Tom Bradley from Contra Costa County Fire as he presented on the Line of Duty Death of Captain Matt Burton and Engineer Scott Desmond that took place on July 21, 2007.

Firefighters from across the region filled the room as Captain Bradley shared the events of that day with honesty and professionalism, reminding us of the lessons paid for at the highest cost.

It was powerful. It was heavy. And it was necessary.

We owe it to Captain Burton and Engineer Desmond to carry those lessons forward.

We stood shoulder to shoulder in remembrance of Fairfield Firefighter Christopher Bell.

Members of IAFF Local 1186 were honored to attend and pay our respects alongside the Fairfield Fire Department, Christopher’s family, and fire service members from across the region. When one of our own is lost, the entire fire service feels it. The uniforms may be different. The patches may change. But the bond does not.

Firefighter Bell served his community with commitment, pride, and purpose. The kind of service that leaves a mark on a department and a community. Moments like this remind us why we do this job and who we do it for. Not just the calls. But the people standing next to us on the line.

To the Fairfield Fire Department and to Christopher’s loved ones, IAFF Local 1186 stands with you. We will continue to honor his life through how we serve, how we show up for each other, and how we carry this profession forward.

Rest easy, brother. We’ve got it from here.
