DAY 1 of our VC CERT 2026 BASIC TRAINING ACADEMY was successfully completed yesterday. Day 2 and 3 will be completed over the next 2 Saturday’s.

The instructor team was led by Chief Joe Napier with support from Chief Justin Loffredo and Engineer Elfego Covarrubias

Consider being a part of next year’s class. You will receive free training that will benefit you, your family and your community in the event of a disaster. In a major disaster when first responder resources are overwhelmed, “you are the help, until help arrives.”

Inaugural Community Leadership Academy

Valley Center community members are invited to participate in the inaugural Valley Center Community Leadership Academy.
This educational and interactive program offers an inside look at the operations of the Valley Center Fire Protection District, San Diego County Sheriff's Office, the Valley Center Municipal Water District, and the Valley Center - Pauma Unified School District.

Thank you to all who joined us for our 4th Annual Love Your Heart Event on February 14, 2026. In partnership with Valley Center Library and the Valley Center Fire Protection District, we were able to provide free blood pressure checks to the community, and free food distribution.

The Legacy Healing & Wellness, Non-profit, generously provided gently used garments and shoes for our clothing swap, as well a wellness gift baskets. Other vendors who supported our event include: The Friends of the Valley Center Library, National Association of Hispanic Nurses, Feeding San Diego, Aging and Independent Services, County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, North Inland Substance Abuse, Vista Hill Smart Care, Valley Center History Museum, San Diego County Sheriffs, and San Diego Gas and Electric.

Raffle winners were announced every 15 minutes starting at 11:30 am. Prizes included: 4 heavy duty fire extinguishers donated by VCFPD, 9 wellness gift baskets donated by Legacy Healing and Wellness, three $25 Target gift certificates donated by VC Library, and 3 stocked disaster preparedness backpacks provided by VC CERT.
