🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATE 🚨
You may notice smoke in the area today. This is coming from a prescribed burn on Fairfax Bypass.

Our crews at East Alabama Fire District (EAFD) are aware of the situation and have met on-site with the individuals conducting the burn.

Currently, there is NO threat to the surrounding area.

We’ll continue to keep a close watch and provide updates if anything changes. Thank you for your awareness!

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!
With Hurricane Isaias approaching, now is the time to prepare! Stock up on fresh water, charge your devices, check your batteries, and make sure your emergency supplies are ready.
A little preparation now can make a big difference later. Stay weather aware, take precautions, and look out for one another.
Stay safe from all of us at EAFD!
