Today, Cpl. Ball/K9 Osok and Ofc. Moskovsky/K9 Deebo conducted a proactive sweep of the jail to help ensure a safe and secure environment.

These routine checks help keep illegal drugs out of the facility and protect the well-being of both staff and inmates.

Great work K9 Osok & K9 Deebo! 🐾🦴

We are saddened to announce another significant loss from our K9 team. Retired Porter County K9 Fury crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today.

Fury was a fierce and loyal Belgian Malinois who proudly served alongside Officer Schafer from 2016 to 2022. K9 Fury and Officer Schafer were quite the team, working tirelessly to keep our county safe. Fury was instrumental in the arrest and apprehension of numerous criminals throughout her career.

Fury enjoyed a well-earned retirement beginning in 2022 and was deeply loved by Officer Schafer and his family.

Rest easy, K9 Fury. 🐾💔

We aren’t letting a little blizzard take away from our training. ❄️☃️❄️

Today, we started the day at Kouts High School. We love visiting and helping keep Porter County Schools safe. We also did some building search style apprehensions using various barriers/obstacles.

Always a good day with dogs. 🤘🏼🐾

We are sad to share the passing of retired Porter County Sheriff’s Office K9 Drayco.

Drayco was a driven and dedicated multipurpose Belgian Malinois who proudly served Porter County from 2015 to 2021 alongside his handler, Lieutenant Underhill. Together, they made a lasting impact by helping remove drugs from our streets and assisting in the apprehension of violent criminals.

Drayco’s career was marked by determination, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the job. Off duty, he was much more than a working K9. He was a loyal companion, deeply cherished by Lieutenant Underhill and his wife.

Rest easy, K9 Drayco. 🖤🐾
