During the holidays, we remember those without the warmth of a home, shiny gifts around a tree, and delicious family meals. Sure, it is easy to remember to give our hearts to the needy during the holidays. However, children in our community are in need year-round.

While World Mental Health Day may have passed, it's always good to keep these 10 tips in mind on how to maintain healthy mental health all year long! https://bit.ly/3drx1jT
World Mental Health Day is Saturday, October 10. Here are 10 ways you and your club can help people keep their minds active and healthy:
Now that fall is here, what are your favorite things to do both indoors or outdoor?
We love stories like this. A moment can change forever when you become a Kiwanis member!
Fewer than 10 years ago, Art Riley couldn’t have guessed that this moment would come. The presidency of Kiwanis International? He had never even anticipated running for a spot on the Board of Trustees.
If you want to build a better future, continue to invest in the younger generation!
What are you doing for yourself, your community, young people?
No matter the crisis, Kiwanis has always been there to help!
During the flu pandemic of 1918, Kiwanians in Allentown, Pennsylvania, opened a temporary home for children whose lives were affected by the illness.
"Norine Colby’s Chicago family received help from Kiwanis when she was a child, thanks to a club that provided children in need with shoes, toys, and holiday activities. Those gifts put her on a path to success, something she has never forgotten." #KidsNeedKiwanis
In response to COVID 19, Montessori School of Lemont is using Zoom and Google Meet to teach 125 students, age 3 through eighth grade, who remain at home. Working from their classrooms, teachers maintain their same schedules.
Judge Mary DeBoer spoke this morning at our meeting to explain what is happening in Juvenile Court in Porter County. She talked about Project ATTEND and Truancy Court.
A quick update!
Due to COVID-19 concerns, Sunrise Kiwanis is temporarily NOT meeting at Viking Chili Bowl every Tuesday morning at 7 AM.
Instead, we will be meeting at East Pavilion at Butterfly Meadows Park on Campbell St. (near the Valpo Parks and Recreation Office) at 8 AM on Tuesday September 22.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Creative ways to welcome new members is always a great idea to make people feel like family!
The best Kiwanis clubs consistently add new members. After all, fresh energy and novel ideas are the lifeblood of successful service. That’s why attracting people to Kiwanis is one of the primary responsibilities for clubs — and a hallmark of those that last.
