Discovery Day Camps Discovery Day Camp is located at Rogers Lakewood Park. Our camp offers your child the summer experience of a lifetime.

We provide campers the opportunity for physical activity, fresh air, and lots of fun & new activities every week. Home base for Discovery Camps is the scenic 122-acre Rogers-Lakewood Park, a perfect setting for the combination of outdoor activities, learning, and fun. And, it’s affordable: the weekly fees break down to less than $3 an hour on average. This is no ordinary “day camp” – this is your

local summer camp done right. Your kids will want to come to camp to see what’s next to be discovered. As well, the camp staff is well-qualified – all counselors have at least one year of college behind them, and most have higher education majors or other jobs that involve youth development or teaching. Safety is a key factor for Discovery Camps so background checks are completed on all staff members. We have experienced and certified staff to guide kids through the best summer yet, while remaining safe in this local Valpo setting.

Our Counselors in Training Director this year is Pretzel! Last summer, Pretzel assisted the CITs weekly and now he's ready to take the group to the next level. He is looking forward to seeing the creativity and leadership from the CITs.

Introducing the 2024 Co-Directors for DDC: Bear & Squid

Bear is starting his 3rd year at WashU in St. Louis, studying Middle School Education in Math and Social Studies, and is also a substitute teacher for Valparaiso Community Schools. Bear attended DDC when he was a kid, and cannot wait to step up as director this summer! He is passionate about working with children, loves running and being outside, and is a certified “life of the party”. Bear is looking forward to seeing all the kiddos this summer!

Squid will be starting her third year at Purdue University come fall. She is double majoring in Special and Elementary Education. This will be her third summer spent at DDC. Squid is beyond excited to be one of the directors and is ready for this new chapter! She is looking forward to working with kiddos, being outside (minus the bugs), and the new memories! Squid is ready to slay all summer : )

Why choose Discovery Day Camp?
We have a payment plan!

When registering, the system asks if you will pay in Full, None or other. By selecting none or other it will guide you through a payment plan option where you choose over how many months and what day to pay. The system will adjust the money amount based on the weeks selected chosen to be paid off by May 19th.
