Testing, testing! ✈️

The 96th Test Wing will conduct testing on the Eglin Test and Training Complex Sept. 2, requiring temporary closures of Highway 85 and State Road 123 between 9 and 11:30 a.m.

Closures should last no more than 90 minutes at a time, but the roads may close more than once during the testing window.

Backup missions are scheduled for Sept. 9 and 11 during the same time frame.

Plan ahead, allow extra travel time and consider an alternate route if you can.

Keep an eye out over the next 12-24hrs, ValP. Make sure you have supplies and a plan for your family. No assumptions to be made as far as what the weather will do but better safe than sorry this time of year. ⛈️☔️

An area of low pressure over the eastern Gulf now has a high chance of development, and a tropical depression is likely to form by later today or tomorrow. The greatest local impact is likely to be dangerous beach conditions through midweek, as the most likely scenario keeps the system offshore. However, it is a bit too early for any more specifics. Please stay tuned for updates and refer to hurricanes.gov for the latest information.
