MEMORIAL DAY

Today, the Van Alstyne Police Department pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Their courage, dedication, and selfless sacrifice secured the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy each day. We remember not only their service, but also the families who carry their memory and sacrifice with them always.
As our community gathers with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and honor those who gave all.
We will never forget.

The Van Alstyne Police Department was proud to be a participant in the WEE School’s Touch-a-Truck 2026 event, reflecting our continued commitment to a “Community First” approach. Events like these provide a meaningful opportunity for our officers to connect with the wonderful residents of our city in a positive and
engaging environment. It was especially rewarding to see the excitement on the children’s faces as they explored police vehicles, asked questions, and interacted with our officers. Building these relationships at a young age helps foster trust, understanding, and a strong sense of community that we are so honored to
be a part of.
