The Class of 2026 made sure this year’s senior prank was one to remember.

After an overnight campout in the parking lot, our seniors kicked off the morning by rerouting traffic, relocating parking, and turning the front of the high school into their own welcome party.

With music pumping from a DJ booth near the arena entrance—and pancakes and donuts in hand at the main entrance—students and staff were greeted with plenty of laughs (and breakfast) on their way into the building.

Thank you to our staff, students, and families for being flexible and rolling with a little senior tradition this morning.

One thing’s for sure… the Class of 2026 knows how to make an exit. 🎓🥞🎶

We wrapped up our class awards ceremonies this afternoon by recognizing the Sophomore class for their hard work and accomplishments throughout the school year.

Teachers honored students with Panther Pride and Top of the Class awards. State qualifiers, UIL Academic competitors and Community Service award recipients were also recognized.

In addition to all of that...we recognized one sophomore for perfect attendance this year!

We are proud of the dedication these students continue to show both inside and outside the classroom. 🐾

We celebrated our seniors today at the Senior Awards Ceremony!

Parents, friends, and staff gathered to honor the hard work and dedication of the Class of 2026 as teachers recognized students with Panther Pride and Top of the Class awards. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next for them! 🐾🎓

As our awards ceremonies approach, we would like to provide a few clarifications regarding student recognition this year:

Community Service Awards
Community Service Awards will be presented to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who have submitted the required number of service hours. Senior students will be recognized for their community service accomplishments during graduation ceremonies.

Academic Awards
Parents of students receiving academic awards have already been contacted by their teachers.

State-Level Achievements
This year, we will also recognize students who competed at the state level in the following activities:

UIL
FCCLA
Ag
Sports
Band

While many of these students have already received awards through their respective organizations or competitions, we want to take a moment during the ceremony to honor their outstanding accomplishments and dedication.

We look forward to celebrating the hard work, achievements, and excellence of our students.

The countdown to graduation continues, and another special tradition is just around the corner.

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the VAHS Class of 2026 at our Baccalaureate Ceremony—an evening of reflection, encouragement, and celebration as our seniors prepare for the next chapter.

Seniors got to make a few more memories this week during their Senior Field Trip!

The Class of 2026 spent the day at Urban Air in Denison enjoying some friendly competition, defying gravity, and soaking in one more chance to laugh, connect, and celebrate together before graduation.

Just two more weeks until they walk the stage! 🎓

This week, VAHS had the privilege of celebrating the upcoming retirement of Karen Endicott.

For 46 years, Mrs. Endicott has poured her heart into education, including 24 years right here at VAHS. Her passion for students, commitment to excellence, and lasting impact on this school community have helped shape the lives of countless students and played an important role in the success of both VAHS and VAISD.

As she begins this well-earned next chapter, we want to thank Mrs. Endicott for her extraordinary years of service, leadership, and dedication. Her legacy will be felt for generations to come.

Congratulations, Mrs. Endicott—and thank you for everything.
