The Van Buren Community Center will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, history, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

We look forward to welcoming you back during our regular hours on Saturday, June 20.

No assigned reading. No pressure. Just books, quiet, and good company. 📚

Silent Book Club meets Thursdays from 6:30–7:30 pm at the Van Buren Community Center all summer long, June through August.

Bring whatever you’re reading - ebooks, audiobooks, novels, comic books… it all counts. Then grab your Metro Detroit Silent Book Club Summer Passport and start collecting stamps at participating chapters across the region.

The more chapters you visit this summer, the more raffle entries you can earn toward the Grand Book Basket Prize!

Because honestly, a summer built around books sounds pretty perfect to us.

Some traditions just feel like summer… and fireworks night is one of them.

Join us Saturday, June 27, at Beck Ball Fields for an evening of music, activities, food, and fireworks under the stars.

Our Recreation Department will have fun activities for kids beginning at 8:00 PM while the DJ keeps the summer vibes going all evening long.

And yes… the fireworks show is going to be BIGGER than ever. 🎆

Summer has officially arrived! ☀️

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Summer Kick-Off Party. We bounced, climbed, danced, and made some great memories along the way.

A big thank you to Van Buren Township Public Safety for partnering with us, and to the Van Buren Township Fire Department for keeping things cool, literally. Between the water spray and the dance moves, we're still not sure which was more refreshing.

See you at the next adventure!

🏀 Basketball Camp is back at the VBC!

Campers will work on skills, teamwork, drills, and gameplay while having a blast with friends old and new. Our staff creates a supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and stay active all summer long.
