Yesterday, the Crawford County Extension 4-H program brought Embryology into the class room at Rena Elementary! 🥚🐣

Students learned how chickens develop inside the eggs throughout 21 days, experienced candling a Day 1 egg, and will watch their very own chickens develop in a classroom incubator! 🐓

Crawford County 4-Her’s came together yesterday to celebrate Earth Day! 🌎🌳

They started off with a nature walk around the trail searching for leaves of different species of trees. Even parents had a blast putting their skills to the test!🍃

Then finished off with making recycled paper wildflower seed bombs and visiting with the 6-legged residents at the Crawford County Extension Office, Madagascar Hissing Cockroach!🌱🪳

2026 Crawford County O'Rama is here!🐮🌾🎤🎹

Monday, May 4th, will be Talks and Talent day.
Thursday, May 7th, will be the day of the outdoor contests.

ID and other tests will be set up in the office throughout the week for pop-in testing. Please visit us during contest times or from 8-4:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

It’s a ‘cheep’er day at the office!🐥

🚗Crawford County Poultry Chain pullets took a road trip this morning from the hatchery, to the Lonoke Fairgrounds, to the Crawford County Office!

Poultry Chain participants are welcome to pick up their pullets from now until our office closes at 4:30!

The Pumpkin and Watermelon Contest Event Registration is now open in ZSuite!
• Event Registration Deadline (Seed order): March 27, 2026
o Event Registration link: https://4h.ZSuite.org/event-registrations/46657
• State Contest: October 10, 2026
• Only official 2026 seeds from the Arkansas 4-H State Office may be used.
• 4-H’ers must be enrolled in the ZSuite system and in the Pumpkin & Watermelon event by March 27th to be eligible.
• The 2026 State Weigh-In will be held on October 10, 2026, at the Arkansas State Fair. More information to come!

🐔 Each order will consist of at least 15 Hyline Brown chicks and a box for transportation; roosters available upon request.

These birds are EGGcellent layers and will make a great addition to a backyard flock or as the start of a new flock!
