Check out this 4-H event!

Looking for an activity for your homeschool 4-H members or an after-school activity? Join us next Thursday for a drop-in craft day at the Crawford County Extension Office. We will have craft stations set up in the back all day for kiddos to get creative and express their inner artist.🎨🖌

All crafts can be entered into the Crawford County Fair, and coloring sheets for the Fair Coloring Contest will be available🖍

Please register in Z-Suites or call the office to register so we can estimate the amount of supplies to provide.

4-H members gained hands-on experience at the Entomology Pinning Workshop at the Crawford County Extension Office yesterday, pinning their own specimens they caught during the Insect Collection Workshop a few weeks ago. 🐝🦋🐛

Participants started their own entomology collections that can be added to and used in 4-H Orama competitions and entered in county fairs. Attendees also were able to meet the Crawford County Extension Office pets, the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches!🪳

Special thank you to Sebastian County Horticulture Agent Zeb Gattis for providing insect collections for participants to observe, showing them the UV light-reactive qualities of Arkansas native scorpions, and lending a helping hand with pinning questions.

Entomology collection workshop scheduled for today at 9 at Alma Lake will be canceled due to low participation. There will be plenty of specimens to work with if your child plans on attending the pinning workshop on Thursday!🦋🪳🐜🪰🪲

4-H Sewing Workshop was a success! Extension Homemakers Club members led the workshop, teaching participants all of the basics of sewing including how to use a sewing machine, how to hand stitch, sewing yo-yo's, attaching buttons, and much more!🪡🧵

Participants created weighted phone holders, scarfs, yo-yo flower vases, and pot holders!

Special thanks to Crawford County Extension Homemakers Club for volunteering their time and skills to make this workshop possible!

The July 31 deadline for 2026 Arkansas Youth Expo entries is almost here!

Don't let a missed deadline keep you out of the show ring:
✔️ Enter ALL animals and projects at http://x-po.org
✔️ Submit a DNA sample for all market animals and commercial females.
✔️ Make sure DNA samples are postmarked by July 31—no late submissions will be accepted.

If your animal requires a DNA sample and one isn't submitted by the deadline, that animal will be ineligible to exhibit at the 2026 Arkansas Youth Expo.
