Today is my last day as the Executive Director of the AFSCA. It completes a journey of roughly 32 years of involvement with fire sprinkler associations in Arkansas. That journey has been great! It started in 1993 when I became the Secretary/Treasurer of the Arkansas Fire Sprinkler Association. I had the privilege of working with sprinkler legends like Bob Walton, Russ Carlisle, Roy Sims and Warner Garner to name a few. They taught me the value of placing the fire sprinkler industry above anyone’s individual company. I carried that knowledge with me when we became a Chapter of the American Fire Sprinkler Association. Since becoming a Chapter of AFSA our group has grown tremendously from a handful to over 70 members. The AFSCA has donated hundreds of hours to educate and promote fire sprinklers to countless Fire Marshals, Building Owners and even school kids. I leave the Executive Director role in the competent hands of Stephen Bitely and a strong Board of Directors. I look forward to seeing the Chapter succeed and grow well beyond today.
