🚨 IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! 🚨

The Sheriff’s Scholarship Fundraiser has officially begun! 🎓💙

We are excited to announce that we are once again accepting business donations. Businesses that support the scholarship fund will receive a spotlight on our social media as a thank-you for helping support local students.

We’re also working on bringing another fun community show/event to the area, similar to what we did last year! 🎉 Stay tuned for more details!

🚔 Introducing Our Monthly “Jail & Bail” Fundraisers! 🚔
Starting September 1st, we will begin our monthly mini-fundraisers, featuring a different area each month!

Here’s how it works:

Have you ever had a boss deny your day off?
Did Mom or Dad make you do the dishes?
Has your spouse ignored that never-ending “Honey-Do List”? 😂

If so, you can put them on our “most wanted” list!

For a $40 donation, you can have a fun, completely voluntary “warrant” issued for your chosen person. Our deputies will be out on designated days looking for them and, if they agree to participate, they’ll be “arrested” and processed into our temporary substation jail! 🚔😂

At the end of each month, we’ll post the “booking photos” on our social media only if the person being “arrested” agrees.

But there’s a catch…

🔓 Want to get out of jail?

The “arrested” person can bail out with a $20 donation.

And for an additional $20 donation, they can turn around and issue a “warrant” for YOU! 😆

It’s all in good fun and, most importantly, it helps us raise money for local students.

🚔 HOW TO GET STARTED 🚔
Each month, our Jail & Bail fundraiser will focus on a specific community/area.

For example, September is the Fremont/Eastwood Area! If you have someone you’d like to put on our “Most Wanted” list, simply come by the Sheriff’s Office, make your $40 donation, and fill out the “warrant” paperwork. Your person will then be added to our monthly “Most Wanted” list! 👮‍♂️🚨

Throughout the month, our deputies or the Sheriff will work to locate your “wanted” person and, if they agree to participate, “arrest” them and bring them to our temporary “jail” for processing. 😂🚔

So start thinking about who deserves to be “wanted”! Is it your boss? Your spouse? Your parent? Your coworker? Your best friend? 😆

Remember, it’s all in good fun and completely voluntary!
📅 Monthly Areas
September: Eastwood/Fremont Area
October: Van Buren Area
November: Ellsinore Area
December: Grandin Area
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supports this scholarship program. ❤️

The "arrest" will only occur in Carter County, in the selected area for that month.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to provide two $5,000 scholarships — one to a senior from the East Carter School District and one to a senior from the Van Buren School District.

We’re hoping to make an even bigger impact this year, and we need your help to make it happen!

Thank you to everyone who donates, participates, shares our posts, and helps spread the word. Your support truly makes a difference! 🎓💙

DISCLAIMER: The Jail & Bail program is completely voluntary and is intended solely as a fun fundraising activity. The “warrants” are not legally binding, and no one will be forced to participate in an “arrest.” Participation, photographs, and social media posts will only occur with the participant’s consent.

🚔 Let the Jail & Bail fun begin! 🚔

** Carter County Leads the Way in School Safety**

Last night at the Missouri Sheriffs’ Conference, I was honored to be invited to speak about our agency’s new school safety system at Ellsinore School.

Carter County is proud to be the first law enforcement agency in Missouri to implement the MyFlare system. This technology connects the school directly with our dispatch center, providing fast, accurate, and critical information to law enforcement personnel responding to an emergency. By improving communication and giving responding officers better information, our goal is to reduce response times and, most importantly, help protect our children, teachers, and school staff.

Being the first agency in Missouri to take this step is a tremendous honor, but for us, it is about much more than being first. When I took office, one of my primary goals was to improve public safety and ensure that communities like Ellsinore received the protection and resources they deserve. Carter County may be a small county, but we are committed to taking big steps when it comes to protecting our community and, especially, our kids.

I want to thank MyFlare, Peacemakers, and the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association for giving us the opportunity to share what we are doing and for supporting our efforts to make our schools safer.

This is just another example of what can happen when a community, its schools, and law enforcement work together toward one common goal: protecting our children and keeping our communities safe. This system was provided by the Carter County Sheriff's Office at no cost to the Ellsinore School.
