Rehearsals begin September 8, with after-school rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m.

There’s big… and then there’s HUGE!

We are thrilled to announce that the Van Buren Freshman Academy Wind Ensemble has been selected as the 2026 Arkansas All-State Music Conference “EEEE” Classification Honor Band!

This prestigious recognition was earned through the submission of a performance recording that was evaluated by a panel of distinguished out-of-state adjudicators and judged to be worthy of this extraordinary honor.

To put this achievement into perspective, the “EEEE” Classification Honor Band is selected only once every two years, making this one of the highest honors a freshman band program in Arkansas can receive.

This will be the 2nd time the VBFA Wind Ensemble has been selected as the Arkansas All State Music Conference Honor Band.

This is a monumental accomplishment for our students, our community, the Van Buren School District, and the entire Van Buren Band Program.

A tremendous congratulations goes to our outstanding Freshman Academy students—both present and future—and especially to their exceptional director, Mr. Brent Evans.
There is no one more deserving of the opportunity to conduct on the All-State Honor Band stage than Brent Evans. His dedication, musicianship, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire everyone around him.
He is absolutely the real deal.
