Here is the report from our partners at the Sheriff’s Office regarding our fire yesterday on Lakeshore Dr

Date: 02-11-2026
Incident: Fatal Structure Fire
Authority: Lt. Nick Kahnke

On February 11, 2026, at approximately 10:13 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a report of a structure fire at N7849 Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Friendship. The fire was reported by a nearby resident.

Fire Departments from North Fond du Lac, Van Dyne, Eldorado, Lamartine, Town of Fond du Lac, Nekimi, and the City of Fond du Lac responded to the scene, along with North Fond du Lac and City of Fond du Lac EMS and Van Dyne first-responders. Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the North Fond du Lac Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol also responded.

Upon arrival, responding deputies observed smoke coming from the attic area of the one-story residence. Fire personnel made entry into the home and located an 81-year-old female deceased inside a bedroom.

The fire, which appeared to have originated in the basement, was quickly brought under control and extinguished by responding fire personnel.

The cause of the fire and the manner of death remain under investigation. No additional information will be released at this time.
