U.S. Marine Corps Educators Workshop Day 4

Day four of the Educators Workshop gave participants a firsthand look at the values, discipline, and teamwork that define the Marine Corps. Educators witnessed an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor ceremony, and got to see and experience the emotion that the ceremony holds for a lot of recruits and Marines alike. Later in the day, they conducted live-fire marksmanship on the rifle range, and worked together to conquer the 12 Stalls Challenge—putting their communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to the test.

These experiences provide educators with a deeper understanding of the transformation every Marine undergoes and the teamwork required to succeed.

U.S. Marine Corps Educators Workshop Day 3

Educators from the 12th Marine Corps District visited Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, where they toured an MV-22 Osprey and received a firsthand look at Marine aviation on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, July 15, 2026. They also observed a live demonstration from Marine Corps firefighters, highlighting the readiness and professionalism required to support the mission.

Back at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, the educators toured the Command Museum before sitting down with newly graduated Marines to hear firsthand about their journey through recruit training and what it took to earn the title of United States Marine. The day concluded with the educators stepping outside their comfort zones as they rappelled down the rappel tower, putting their confidence and courage to the test.

U.S. Marine Corps Educators Workshop Day 2

Day two challenged educators from across the 12th Marine Corps District to step into the shoes of a Marine recruit. From the moment they stepped off the bus and onto the iconic yellow footprints, they experienced the discipline and intensity that define the recruit training transformation.

Throughout the day, participants met their Drill Instructors, pushed themselves through the Combat Fitness Test, learned the fundamentals of Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), and witnessed the precision and capability of a military K-9 demonstration. Each event provided a firsthand look at the standards, leadership, and commitment that shape the next generation of Marines.

U.S. Marines with Recruiting Station Los Angeles, were honored to be invited to Dodger Stadium for a special meet and greet with Dodgers legend and Marine Corps veteran Rick Monday, followed by the opportunity to observe batting practice.

The event served as a meaningful reminder of the enduring bond between the United States Marine Corps and those who continue to exemplify honor, courage, and commitment both in and out of uniform. Recruiting Station Los Angeles extends its sincere appreciation to Rick Monday and the Los Angeles Dodgers for their hospitality and continued support of our nation’s Marines.

Earlier this month, the 12th Marine Corps District 8412 Symposium brought together the Marines shaping the future of recruiting across the western United States. Through professional development, collaboration, and leadership discussions, these Marines sharpened the tools needed to inspire the next generation to earn the title Marine. 🇺🇸

This symposium also marked an important milestone for RSLA as SSgt Zamudio, SSgt Jimenez, SSgt Cortez, and SSgt Dellinger were officially recognized as Marine Corps Career Recruiters. Congratulations to these Marines on their commitment to the future of the Marine Corps and the next generation they will help inspire.

The mission never stops.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy lives on through the freedoms we enjoy every day. This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen and stand grateful for their courage, selflessness, and commitment to something greater than themselves.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 graduates who were recognized by Our Community Salutes for their commitment to serving our nation. Especially our U.S. Marine Corps poolees for choosing to serve in the United States Marine Corps. We couldn’t be more proud of these young men and women for making the decision to earn the title Marine and take on the challenge of serving something greater than themselves.

A special thank you to Our Community Salutes for facilitating such a meaningful recognition ceremony and giving these future Marines the opportunity to be honored in front of their parents, families, and recruiters before beginning their journey to recruit training and also to our 1st Marine Division Band for providing an amazing ensemble for the ceremony.
