Earlier this month, the 12th Marine Corps District 8412 Symposium brought together the Marines shaping the future of recruiting across the western United States. Through professional development, collaboration, and leadership discussions, these Marines sharpened the tools needed to inspire the next generation to earn the title Marine. 🇺🇸

This symposium also marked an important milestone for RSLA as SSgt Zamudio, SSgt Jimenez, SSgt Cortez, and SSgt Dellinger were officially recognized as Marine Corps Career Recruiters. Congratulations to these Marines on their commitment to the future of the Marine Corps and the next generation they will help inspire.

The mission never stops.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy lives on through the freedoms we enjoy every day. This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen and stand grateful for their courage, selflessness, and commitment to something greater than themselves.

The future is in good hands. 🇺🇸

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 graduates who were recognized by Our Community Salutes for their commitment to serving our nation. Especially our U.S. Marine Corps poolees for choosing to serve in the United States Marine Corps. We couldn’t be more proud of these young men and women for making the decision to earn the title Marine and take on the challenge of serving something greater than themselves.

A special thank you to Our Community Salutes for facilitating such a meaningful recognition ceremony and giving these future Marines the opportunity to be honored in front of their parents, families, and recruiters before beginning their journey to recruit training and also to our 1st Marine Division Band for providing an amazing ensemble for the ceremony.

The few. The proud. The Marines.

U.S. Marine Corps canvassing recruiters with Recruiting Station Los Angeles attended the LA Marathon this past weekend, engaging with members of the community and cheering on the incredible runners who took on the 5k as well as the 26.2 mile challenge.

While athletes pushed their limits on the course, our Marines added another challenge during the weekend—pull-ups. Strength, endurance, and determination were on full display all weekend long.

Big congratulations to Staff Sergeant Andres Cortez, Recruiting Substation Burbank station commander with Recruiting Station Los Angeles on officially transitioning from the Marine Corps Reserve to Active Duty! 💪🇺🇸

Choosing to go Active isn’t just a change in status — it’s a commitment to serve full-time, lead daily, and embrace the next level of responsibility. From advanced schools and specialized MOS opportunities to worldwide duty stations and increased leadership roles, Active Duty service expands a Marine’s reach and impact across the Corps.

SSgt Cortez continues to set the example of what growth, ambition, and commitment look like in uniform.

The standard stays high — and so do you.
