🚨 Click It or Ticket 2026 🚨

May 18,2026 - June 2, 2026

The Van Police Department is proud to continue its partnership with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in the annual Click It or Ticket campaign reminding our community that seat belts save lives — every ride, every time.

Since November 7, 2000, Texas has seen at least one fatality on our roadways every single day. That’s over two decades of daily tragedy — and it’s a streak we must end.

💡 Wearing your seat belt is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones in a crash. It only takes a few seconds to buckle up, and it could save your life.

Let’s work together to protect our roads and families.
👮‍♂️ Buckle up. Drive safe. And help us .

In the early morning hours of 05-09-2026 officers were made aware of a pursuit from Heath Police Department (Rockwall County). Information relayed stated the suspects were involved in a burglaries in Heath,Texas.

Heath PD spotted the suspect and the pursuit ensued.
The suspects reached speeds over 100+mph on Interstate 20. Officer Alvarado was listening to the radio and was positioned at mile marker 536 where he was able to successfully deploy spikes deflating the front driver and passenger tires.

The suspects could only go a mile further before bailing into a wood line. Additional resources were called to the scene. Texas Game Wardens responded with a drone and K9 and were able to coordinate perfectly pushing the suspects out of the wooded area and into handcuffs of the perimeter officers.

The suspects were handed over to Heath PD as they were transported back to answer for their crimes.

Another fine example of Officers, Deputies, Troopers, and Game Wardens working together. We all have different uniforms, but we all work for the same purpose. Protect the Great State of Texas and anyone who visits.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
