💛 VMS IS GOING GOLD! 💛

Today, our halls were a little brighter as we wore yellow to show our support for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 🎗️

Behind every yellow shirt is a reminder of the brave children fighting cancer, the families walking beside them, and the incredible strength they show every single day.

At VMS, we believe in showing up for one another and today, we showed up in GOLD. 💛

Because sometimes a simple shirt can send a BIG message: You are seen. You are supported. You are not alone. 💛🎗️

🐾🌿 HAPPY FOUNDATION TUESDAY! 🌿🐾

Things got a little WILD at VMS today… and we’re not mad about it! 🤪

Once a month, our staff rocks their Van ISD Education Foundation shirts to show some love for an organization that is ALWAYS doing big things for our schools!

Why are we WILD about the Foundation?
🦁 Because they believe in our teachers.
🐯 Because they invest in our classrooms.
🦓 Because they give us opportunities to try new things.
🐒 Because they help turn “Wouldn’t it be cool if…” into “LOOK WHAT WE GET TO DO!”

And let’s be honest… we’re pretty WILD about our students, too. ❤️🤍

So today, we’re bringing the wild, wearing the shirts, and celebrating the Van ISD Education Foundation!

VMS may be WILD… but we’re WILD about EDUCATION! 🐾📚

💛 WEAR YELLOW FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS 💛

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and on Wednesday, September 2, we’re asking Vandal Land to WEAR YELLOW. 🎗️

For us, this fight is close to home.

On Wednesday, let’s fill our campuses with yellow as a visible reminder that no child fights alone. We wear yellow to support every child fighting cancer, stand with their families, and raise awareness for all those impacted by childhood cancer.

💛 Vandal Land stands together.
🎗️ Wear Yellow. Raise Awareness. Support the Fight.

🧪⚡️ Science in Action! ⚡️🧪

Today, our scientists got hands-on as we explored the solubility and electrical conductivity of everyday items! 🔬💡

Students made observations, tested different materials, and worked together to determine which substances dissolved in water and which items could conduct electricity. From making predictions to collecting evidence, they were putting their scientific thinking to work! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

It was a great day of collaboration, curiosity, and learning by doing! These scientists are discovering that sometimes the best way to understand science is to get a little messy and test it for themselves! 🧪🙌

Mrs. Horton’s 6th graders are studying economics this week. Today students practiced identifying the four economic systems. Market, mixed, command, and traditional. They used text and pictures.

Oliver Schmidt won our Economic Systems Quizlet yesterday and is sporting his University of North Texas T-shirt prize today.
