💚🌲 The May Fircrest Neighborhood Association eNewsletter is here!

This month’s issue celebrates the small things that help build stronger neighborhoods — from Little Free Libraries and neighborhood sharing projects 📚 to opportunities to volunteer at LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park 🌿.

We’re also sharing an important reminder about why reporting ongoing neighborhood concerns through proper City channels really matters. 👀📝

Plus: a little appreciation for the good dogs and great neighbors who help make Fircrest such a special place to live. 🐾

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day to all the fabulous moms of Fircrest! 🌷

Today, we celebrate the women who nurture, encourage, organize, volunteer, cheer from the sidelines, comfort through challenges, and quietly hold so much of our community together every single day. 💕

Whether you’re raising little ones, guiding grown children, supporting chosen family, caring for others, or carrying forward the love and wisdom of generations past — we see you, appreciate you, and thank you.

Fircrest is a more caring, connected, and welcoming place because of the incredible moms and mother-figures who call this neighborhood home. 🌲💚

Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, flowers, coffee, hugs, naps… and maybe even a little peace and quiet. 😉

Happy Mother’s Day from the Fircrest Neighborhood Association! 💐

What to Expect: In-N-Out Opening Traffic Plan 🚗

We’ve heard the questions—and yes, the City has been planning for this.

As the new In-N-Out prepares to open in Fircrest, a temporary traffic and parking plan is being put in place to help manage the expected surge in activity, especially in the first few weeks.

The image below (provided by the City of Vancouver) outlines key elements, including:

• Designated drive-thru queue routes
• Temporary signage and traffic control
• Monitored access points (driveways)
• Message boards to help guide drivers in real time

You’ll notice efforts to keep queues off major roads, maintain access to nearby businesses, and direct traffic as safely as possible.

Will it be busy? Almost certainly—at least at the start.

But this plan is designed to reduce spillover impacts and keep things moving.

👉 We encourage you to take a look at the map so you know what to expect and can plan accordingly.

As always, we’ll continue to share updates as we learn more.
