Through our Bricks & Clicks Grant Program, Vancouver's Downtown Association supports small businesses with improvements that help strengthen downtown Vancouver.

Theproofbar used grant support to give their building a fresh coat of paint, giving the corner of 8th & Washington a new look.

Supporting small businesses and investing in downtown properties is one way VDA helps keep downtown Vancouver vibrant.

Main Street Promise Highlight: Courtney’s Coffee House

For five years, Courtney’s Coffee has been serving Vancouver from her stand at Fourth Plain and Kauffman. Now, her growing business has a brick-and-mortar in a familiar community space: Courtney’s Coffee House at 210 W Evergreen Blvd, formerly Java House.

Working in coffee since she was 15, Courtney built her business on years of experience and a commitment to serving the community. This new space continues the tradition of a welcoming gathering place, with events like open mic nights and live music. Pop by and say hello.

Main Street Promise Spotlight: The Grocery Cocktail & Social 🍸

Celebrating 12 years this fall, The Grocery serves downtown Vancouver with a handcrafted cocktail menu featuring house-made syrups and punches, seasonal drinks, local beer, wine, and cider.

Their food menu highlights elevated pub fare and comfort food made from scratch daily, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and handmade offerings. The Grocery offers a relaxed space to enjoy a meal, meet up with friends, or unwind.

Today, a historic-style clock was installed at Evergreen & Main, bringing a new icon to our downtown corridor.

Standing 13 feet tall and weighing approximately 600 pounds, it features four white dial faces framed in black and gold. Crafted by The Verdin Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, one of America’s oldest clock makers, this clock is built to stand the test of time.

Generously donated by Todd and Jessy Engblom-Stryker in partnership with Vancouver’s Downtown Association, the clock is one of several new placemaking investments coming to Main Street as the Main Street Promise project nears completion.

Special thanks to the City of Vancouver for incorporating the clock into the site improvements near 916 Main.
