Congratulations to Battalion Chief Rick Steele for his 33 years of service to the City of Vancouver Fire Department. Your passion and leadership will be missed. It is a selfishly sad day for the VFD, but we are all excited to see you begin the next chapter of your life. You are a legend in every sense of the word, and your legacy will be carried forward for years. Chief Steele, you have climbed the mountain, now go and enjoy the view! We love ya!!

Congratulations Brother Ricky Walsh!!!

Earlier today I was sworn in as your IAFF 7th District Vice President. The road here has been bumpy for us all and together we will move forward and continue the important work of servant leadership. Thank you to those who believed in me along the way and to those who I must continue to work to earn their respect and

RIP Brother

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we report the death of Captain Craig Aman from kidney cancer on March 14, 2017.
Craig spent his final hours at his home in Eugene, Oregon with his family, including his wife Melissa, daughters Lauren, Jess and Gianna and son Mike

Craig joined the Seattle Fire Department in December 1990, serving on Ladder 9 and Ladder 5 before becoming a Paramedic in 1994. In 2010, Craig was promoted to Lieutenant and then in 2016 to Captain. As a Lieutenant, Craig served as the Special Events Coordinator and AMR liaison at Battalion 3.

Details regarding a memorial in the Seattle area will be shared as soon as they are available.
