They will celebrate their accomplishments with a traditional pinning ceremony this evening.

Nursing was one of the early programs at Clark College, and graduates have supported healthcare throughout Southwest Washington for over 60 years.

🍵Clark is proud to welcome local leaders to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and celebrating the longstanding sister-city relationship between and Joyo, Japan, including Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Port of Vancouver’s Mike Bomar, and Elie Kassab.

Clark helps strengthen international connections through Japanese language courses, study abroad opportunities, the annual Sakura Festival, and by welcoming Joyo visitors to campus.

Interested in Japanese culture and language? The Clark College Japanese Club meets Tuesdays from 1–2 p.m. in Hanna Hall 105. Join us!

The theme of this year’s annual Women in STEM Tea may have focused on “Hidden Women in STEM,” but the message was loud and clear: women are leaders and innovators, and their voices deserve to be heard. 👩‍🔬

Hosted by Clark N.E.R.D. Girls and G.E.E.K.S. on May 13, the event invited students to connect with each other and with professionals while enjoying finger sandwiches, pastries, and tea while they explored what it means to be women professionals in STEM, both historically and today.

Keynote speaker Professor Tanya Diaz-Kozlowski from the Women’s Studies department said,

“You belong here. You don’t have to prove your worthiness.”
