Yesterday, Det. Estepp, Sgt. Nagel, and Officer Blackford had the privilege of participating in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ohio!
Each year, law enforcement officers across Ohio carry the “Flame of Hope” to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics athletes throughout our state. The torch symbolizes courage, inclusion, determination, and the unwavering spirit of these incredible athletes.
Vandalia Division of Police teamed up with members from other local agencies to participate. The southern leg of the run carried the Torch from the Centerville Police Department to the Dayton Police Department. The torch will make its way to The Ohio State University on May 29, 2026, where the flame will be used to light the cauldron, declaring the opening ceremonies of the 2026 State Summer Games for Special Olympics in Columbus.
Thank you to each of our members that participated in this event and good luck to all the athletes participating in the State Summer Games.
💛 Together, we carry the Flame of Hope.
