Get ready for your weekend at Lost Maples!

Join us tomorrow on Saturday, 10/10, for Moth Mayhem!

We will be geared up to go mothing! What is mothing?
We will have UV lights and sheets to help us attract nighttime critters for us to see, including moths, beetles, and other cool insects. It's a great way to spend a night outside, see some neat stuff, and learn a little bit more about the animals we share the night with.

If you're camping with us this weekend, don't miss it! If you're coming for the day and don't have reservations yet, make sure to make your reservations in advance.

Join us all month for great programs! Our next program is Moth Mayhem this Saturday, where we will be attracting some nighttime insects and learning more about moths (and other critters!). Come see us and enjoy this nice, cool weather! Make a reservation in advance to secure your day pass in case we reach capacity.

Lost Maples State Natural Area needs volunteers to help us during our busy season in October and November. There's a variety of opportunities available, from helping with programs and activities, to becoming a trail advisor who helps keep people safe by providing information about our trails. We are also looking for park hosts to live in the park and provide assistance.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience with park operations, programming, and interacting with the public! Come build new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and make a difference!

🍁Planning a Lost Maples trip this fall? Read this!🍁

The busy season at Lost Maples State Natural Area is typically October through November, and the park often fills up!

Please make sure you have reservations for the day! You can make day pass reservations up to 30 days in advance. Now's the time to start planning your trip!

Without a reservation, we may not have room in the park to give you a day pass. If you have a Texas State Parks Pass, please still make a reservation in advance. A TSPP does not guarantee entry, but a day pass reservation does!

Expect higher amounts of traffic in and around the park and longer wait times to get checked in. Plan ahead and be ready for your trip!

Looking for a place to park host for the end of the year? Head to Lost Maples State Natural Area!

Lost Maples is looking for park hosts to stay with us during our busiest part of the year: October and November! Our host spots are open through the end of the year, and most are open through at least March of next year. In exchange for around 24 hours of work a week, park hosts live in the park at one of three full hook-up RV sites and have access to a washer and dryer.
