Last evening, Vanlue Firefighters, along with Washington Twp (Arcadia) Firefighters teamed up for a joint training session held at the STRICT CENTER at Findlay Fire Station #4. Our crews always work well with each other on the fire scene and training together is a big reason for that. Great job everyone!

Last evening Vanlue Firefighters worked through the heat and humidity as we trained on roof ventilation and ladder safety at the STRICT CENTER at Findlay Fire Station #4. It’s always great training when we get the opportunity to train at the STRICT CENTER. If you don’t train you loose your skills and Vanlue Firefighters are always trying to better ourselves to better serve our community!

Beautiful day to put our pumpers through some work as we completed our annual pump tests. We also had all of our ladders tested as well. They are getting some years on them but they still can pump !!

This evening, our Vanlue Firefighters put in the work as we conducted water rescue and boat operations training on the Findlay Reservoir. Some of the training involved simulating a boat in distress and being towed back to shore. Great job by everyone!

Vanlue Firefighters would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to the Washington TWP Fire Department (Arcadia)and the Washington TWP Trustees for their generosity in donating this nice set of Lukas extraction tools to our department! The camaraderie that we have between both departments is second to none and the willingness and the ability to work together is at the highest level! Thank you again Washington Twp!!

This morning our Vanlue Fire crews were up bright and early on a Saturday morning putting in the work as we trained on vehicle extraction, the use of airbags and vehicle stabilization techniques. It was a great morning of training. We would like to thank Danner’s in Upper Sandusky for the delivery and pick up of the vehicles and the Vanlue School for the use of their parking lot!

What an incredible stop to this barn fire this evening. Thanks to the WTFD crew and the Vanlue Fire crew that responded. We were able to stop this fire to its origin with minimal exposures. Also thanks to NBS Joint Fire and Bascom Fire for their response with tankers. And as always, thanks to Hanco for being there if needed. We were able to contain this building to its origin. Saved a large pull barn and a garden shed with no damage to the house. Awesome work to everyone!!!
