res of land management responsibilities. Several of our special natural resource management activities which have been completed recently include: implementation of soil conserving sediment basins/moist-soil wetlands (140 acres developed in 1996), re-establishment of native warm season grasses to reduce maintenance costs and improve habitat (approximately 324 acres since 1990), tree and shrub plantings (10 acres since 1987), fisheries improvement projects (2 artificial structures containing 600 used tires and 20 sites using 200 cedar and used Christmas trees), re-establishment of flood tolerant grasses infrequently flooded park areas (60 acres since 1993), placement of numerous artificial nesting boxes, park facility remodeling and construction (4 new antipollution and environmental education programs).
