Administration is based at our Veneta Headquarters Station; ambulance service operatio

We operate an Advanced Life Support ambulance service with an Ambulance Service Area that includes several fire districts and extends into two other counties.

Tonight around 8 pm, while transporting a critical patient to the hospital, the crew of Medic 115 encountered a brush fire along the shoulder of Highway 126.

Recognizing the immediate threat, one crew member quickly deployed a fire extinguisher to slow the fire’s spread. The ambulance then continued its emergent transport to the hospital without delay.

Shortly afterward, Lane Fire Authority crews arrived on scene and contained the fire before it could rapidly spread.

Great work by everyone involved. This incident is a great example of the quick decision-making, teamwork, and dedication our crews demonstrate every day—protecting both our patients and our community.

Preparedness begins long before an emergency.

Today, LFA, along with firefighters from Eugene Springfield Fire who serve on the Regional HazMat Team, toured a facility in North Battalion as part of ongoing pre-incident planning. These collaborative tours help responders become familiar with facility layouts, operations, and potential hazards before an emergency occurs.

Thank you to our host for partnering with us to help keep our community safe.
