Welcome to Venice, the “City on the Gulf.” The City of Venice is a popular vacation destination as well as a wonderful place to live, work and play. The beautifully landscaped historic downtown district is lined with a variety of restaurants, boutiques, and unique shops. There are over 30 public parks, 5 miles of trails along the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and 3.5 miles of beautiful beaches inclu

ding a dog-friendly beach. The city has received numerous awards and recognition on lists such as: Best Beach Towns to Live In, America In Bloom, USA Today Best Coastal Small Town, Safest Cities in Florida, Top Fishing Piers in Florida, Best Places to Retire in Florida, and Top Small Cities to Relocate. The shopping, dining, recreation, and natural beauty draw thousands of people to the City each year; making Venice a great place to host special events. Annually, there are nearly 100 medium to large events held within the City and more than 200 park reservations each year. These park reservations include smaller activities and events such as concerts at the Centennial Park gazebo.

📷 The City of Venice is holding its annual photography contest for its much-anticipated annual calendar that showcases the beauty and charm of our “City on the Gulf.”

Along with gorgeous images from local photographers, the annual calendar also provides residents and visitors with information on City Council and advisory board meetings throughout the year, special events, frequently used phone numbers, a map of City limits, photos of Council Members and Charter Officers, and more. A limited run of 5,000 calendars are distributed for free to citizens at the end of the year.

✅ Photo entries must be received by Friday, July 31, 2026
