Thank you for the help from deputies on scene and the Clear Lake Ambulance who transported the individual to the hospital for advanced medical care. We also appreciate the help of Clear Lake Fire Department who sent a team over to assist with the fire. We are proud to serve as part of a great team of dedicated first responders here in North Iowa.

This one hits hard. We will be feeling this loss for a long time. Chuck was a vital piece of keeping Ventura Fire Department ready for action. No one person can pick up what he left behind. Godspeed brother!

You were one of the good ones who demonstrated to us all how to show love to all those we serve. Your dedication to our department is why we have an EMS service today. Your legacy will live on with each call we respond to, may we continue to make you proud. Your sense of humor, stories, and life lessons will be missed around the station.

Some people will only see shoes scattered on the ground, but to us this is a symbol of service to our community. Tonight our team responded all across town to ensure safe passage through the roads following the storm as well as making sure all the campers at Clearwater Campground and McIntosh State Park were rescued from overturned campers and offered safe shelter.

We are proud to serve our community and are forever humbled by your support of our department.

We are grateful to our community, the members of this department, and our families that allow us to respond to help our neighbors when they call. We mourn with the family, but are proud to help bring a swift and safe conclusion to a tragic situation.
