Mrs. Jacob’s class had a great week of learning! Students enjoyed reading and writing independently, and they were so excited to welcome Ms. Hamm as their gardening expert. She taught them about seeds and showed them how to harvest beans from their garden.

Ms. Andrade’s kindergarten students have been hard at work building important early literacy and handwriting skills.

Students practiced the sounds and formation of vowels while also strengthening the fine motor skills needed for writing. They worked on proper pencil grip, including the tripod grip, and practiced controlled hand movements and basic strokes before moving into letter formation.

These foundational skills help students develop stronger handwriting habits while also connecting letter formation with the sounds each vowel makes.

Dolly Day was so much fun at Venus Primary today!

Our Bulldogs came dressed in their boots, denim, pink, and a little bit of sparkle as we celebrated Dolly Parton and the difference she has made for children through her love of reading and giving back.

We loved seeing all of their Dolly-inspired looks and, of course, all of those sweet smiles! Such a fun day at VPS celebrating kindness, reading, and doing good for others.

Ms. Leonard’s 1st grade mathematicians have been busy building their understanding of addition!

Students used counters, cubes, whiteboards, and other hands-on tools to model numbers, create addition problems, write addition sentences, and show their mathematical thinking in different ways. These hands-on experiences help students build a strong understanding of how numbers work and give them multiple ways to solve and explain math problems.

We love seeing our students learning, thinking, and problem solving together.

Little hands are building big skills in Ms. Barton’s kindergarten class!

Students practiced important fine motor skills through cutting, writing, tracing, manipulating small objects, and other hands-on activities. These experiences help strengthen the hand muscles, coordination, and control students need for successful writing and everyday classroom tasks.
