Fire danger remains in place across Oklahoma today ahead of promising rainfall potential tomorrow and Saturday. OFS and Fire departments across the state have responded to several escaped debris burns and some escaped controlled burns in recent days. This is a testament to the amount of fuel on the Oklahoma landscape that has been subjected to drought for an extended period of time. We continue to encourage you to use caution with outdoor burning activities to avoid wildfires that may pose threats to values at risk. Plan your burning activities well in advance ensuring that you are mindful of weather and fuel dryness, establishing control lines to aid in containing the fire and having adequate personnel and equipment to hold the fire in place.
