If I missed thanking anyone it was done inadvertently and absentminded. We are SO grateful to everyone who had a hand in helping to make the Haunted House the success that it truly was on Halloween weekend! ๐๐ป๐คก๐น๐๐ค
I canโt believe itโs been a month ago already that the moon was this full and pretty, but was shining on the eve of Halloween! As I stated earlier, someone hacked into our previous Library page, so I needed to start a new one and now have a lot of catching up to do. First Iโd like to thank our Library Board and Community Workers Leota Specht, Peggy Adams, Hailey Liberty, Lauren Weinmann, Victoria McAndrew, Tammie Bents, Brenda Streit, and our Mayor, Denise Koso, our husbands and partners for putting together an amazing haunted house, The Verdon Dead and Breakfast. Rick, Jake, Bubba, Jonathon, Neal, and Dennis we thank you for not only your help, but for your patience in allowing our time away from home and family to put this brainstorm into reality. The creative talents from each and every one of you and the time and resources you unselfishly invested-when all was combined into 6 weeks to get everything ready- produced an attraction that so many told us was outstanding and surpassed similar outlets found in Omaha, Lincoln, and St. Jo! We especially thank Mr. Andre Hoffner who owns the house and property where this was held. He gave us his approval before any of us had met him and entrusted us to take care of it. He made a few extra trips down before the big weekend and he and his wife brought some family members along with them and trekked from Omaha to attend the haunted house on Halloween. He truly went the extra mile for us and we cannot express our gratitude for all that he did in making it a success. Many thanks to the city council for their blessings to let us host this fundraiser in the Village, to the Verdon Volunteer Firemen for providing the bottled water, juice boxes, and chips for the annual Halloween supper and costume contest, to Cody Bahr for providing and cooking up the hot dogs and coney buns, and for sharing his welding talents which helped create our D& B sign, to everyone who gave us furnishings at no charge, to Dakota Keller and Annie Crofford who let us use their scary props, thank you Frederickโs Auction for providing the porta-pottyโs, and thanks to the cast and crew of Extraโs who came Friday and Saturday evening and helped scare the bejesus out of over 300 people who attended! We thank all of you for coming and having a scream with us!! Last and most gratefully, we thank the Lord for the great weather and for watching over all so no one was hurt!!
