Breacher Soldiers had excellent weather to conduct their field training exercise this weekend. Training consisted of manual breaching of wire obstacles, basic soldiering skills, construction of tank ditches, and fighting positions in order to fix, turn, block and disrupt enemy movement throughout the AO.

This drill Breacher Company honored SFC Danaher’s 20 years of selfless service and dedication to duty. You will be missed but not forgotten. Best of luck in your next adventure.

Breacher Company always finds a way to get Soldiers out in the field. The Platoon Leadership took advantage of having a home station drill and reached out to resources to help train Soldiers on their MOS specific tasks. The main topics for this weekend were Mine Detection, Route, and Bridge Recon. Keep up the great training team!

This past drill Breacher Company hunkered down during one of Vermont’s winter storms. Despite the extreme cold weather, moral stayed high and Soldiers stayed warm with all the training that was conducted. Breacher’s Soldiers worked on their proficiency in mechanical, ballistic and explosive breaching techniques. The rest of the unit executed drivers training on their equipment as well as route clearance operations.

Lastly, a shout out goes to CPT Bergeron on his promotion! Congratulations, Sir.

Did you know that on February 13th, 2015, Soldiers from Detachment 1, 131st Engineer Company, Vermont Army National Guard assisted the town of Brockton, Massachusetts, with snow removal.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency coordinated the effort after the governor declared a state of emergency earlier this week. National Guardsmen from Vermont and Maine are helping their Massachusetts counterparts in responding to recent major snowfalls that have buried areas of the Bay State.

The Vermont National Guard hosts two non-commissioned officers and two junior enlisted soldiers for a chance at becoming the state representatives at regional Best Warrior Competition events.

This IDT weekend Breacher Soldiers took on Vermonts Extreme Cold Weather (ECW). 🥶 With below freezing temperatures the Company executed ECW operations with support from the Army issued 7 layer system. This exercise instills trust in our equipment as well as confindence in one’s ability to take on austere environments.

Let’s hope March is a little warmer when we take to the field.

This past weekend Breacher Company was hard at work preparing for the Cold Weather Field Training Exercise (CWFTX) in February.

Soldier’s conducted great familiarization training for upcoming drills. PMCS and load out was executed on all vehicles; Rucks were packed; Inventories were completed; knots were taught and weapons PMI was to ensure Soldier’s maintain their assigned equipment.
