Have you heard the news? The City of Vergennes has been awarded a $426,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund grant through the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation to help build the new pavilion! This is an incredible investment in recreation and our community, but it is a matching grant, which means we still have work to do.
The project is estimated at approximately $850,000, and our community has already raised more than $120,000 through local fundraising and philanthropy. Now we are launching the push to raise the final $300,000 needed to secure the full grant and bring this project to construction in 2027. What will this pavilion mean for Vergennes?
Covered basketball courts
Pickleball courts
A covered seasonal ice rink
Concerts and performances
Excercise classes and programs
Community events, parties and gatherings
Recreation that doesn't have to stop when it rains! This will become a year-round gathering place for Vergennes, a place for kids, families, athletes, neighbors and community organizations to come together.
We are kicking off the fundraising push with a party!
