Garden designer, Itaru Sasaki, designed a phone for people grieving the loss of loved ones after the devastation in Japan caused by the 2011 tsunami. He called it a wind phone. The wind phone was not designed with any specific religious connotation but rather as a way for a person to

It seems every time I'm needing mom the most she shows up. Either a picture comes up, a message from someone, or there is something with the wind phone.

This time was no different. Struggling with work, home, and personal day to day, talking to her this week would have been great.

Then out of the blue there is a like on Darlene's Wind Phone page and it leads me to Amy Connelly Dawson's page and website where is has Darlene's Wind Phone listed.

Panic set in last night when I realized that I didn't remove the cord and receiver from the phone before the bad winter storm and 45 mph winds rolled onto the shores of Vermilion. I was sure the receiver had been blown off the phone and ripped from the cord. Today at lunch I went out to take a look at the damages.

I'm calling it "crazy faith" ... the phone never looked better! It was like a silent strength there on that tree, reminding me that it isn't just a phone... it's DARLENE'S WIND PHONE!
