Vermilion High School announces the May Lions Club Student of the Month
The final Student of the Month caps off a great year of terrific academic achievement, athletic achievement and social involvement. Almost everyone of these students have solid future plans and are determined to make the best out of their opportunities. May’s Student is no less determined, successful, or involved.
Our May student currently ranks 11 in his class, sporting a stellar 4.18 GPA. He is a Five Time Honor Roll student, a Two Time High Honor Roll student and a Two Time Distinguished Honor Roll Student. He also is a member of the Peer Leadership class where he works with the Middle School and Elementary school children through our Big Buddies programs.
On the athletic field, he has numerous awards for success as he was voted 1st Team All Lorain County two times in football. He was also voted 1st Team All- Sandusky Bay Conference Offensive Lineman. He was selected 1st team All Northwest District 1st Team and Honorable Mention All Ohio as an offensive lineman.’
Outside of the classroom and off the playing field he is active at his church where he performs in the Easter Plays. He also actively participated in handing out BackPacks for his church giveaway and also participated in other Thanksgiving activities for his church.
Many of his teachers and coaches would label him as a leader and someone who cares. On a personal note, seeing this young man grow as an athlete, a person, and a student from 7th grade through now, he is truly a remarkable young man and will definitely forge a positive and constructive place in society.
The Student of the Month for May is Chad Ellis II, son of proud father Chad Ellis, mom Breanna Stewart and step-mom Jennifer Ellis.
Chad plans on attending Kent State University to study finance and real estate.
